Sisterhood
We take an active role in the B'nei Mitzvah program; sharing the richness of these simchas and honoring our young adults with a gift from the Beth Chaim Sisterhood. We act as a support group for our community during life-cycle events and provide care, meals, visits and comfort at times of sorrow. Each year the Sisterhood sponsors a Shabbat service where our members lead and participate fully in the service with prayer, music and personal experiences.
We step out for Sisterhood luncheons, dinners, potluck brunches, movie nights, the annual ski trip. We also get together each year for the famous Sisterhood Hamentaschen Bake for the Purim Celebration – we laugh, schmooze, sing, and laugh some more.Come and find out what we are all about. We welcome your ideas and, more importantly, your friendship.
GOURMET CLUB
This is a new group for foodies who love to cook. Come join us for great food, fun, friends, and libations.
Open to all women of Beth Chaim Sisterhood. If you’re not a member yet, please join us for dinner and you can sign up then. You don’t need to be a gourmet cook; you just need to be passionate about food and cooking.
Our dinners will be once a month on Sundays at the homes of the participants. Dates to be determined so please bring your calendars.
Each dinner will be based on a theme. Some examples are: regional (Southern Italian, French Bistro), Holidays, Spa cuisine. The host for that month will pick a theme and the host will prepare the main course. All participants will prepare their dish in advance and bring to the event.
All dishes need to be homemade (by you). (Exceptions: if you’ve had some type of catastrophe and are unable to bring a homemade dish for that dinner, please pick something up and come anyway.) We’d rather have your company than get hung up on silly rules! Please reserve this option only for when you really need it. Please also bring the beverage of your choice to share. If you enjoy wine, please bring some. If you like bubbly Italian water…. you get the idea.
We’ll have 2 special events per year; One fancy event will include guests and one summer BBQ event will include the entire family. Field trips will be planned to great restaurants and wine tasting excursions.
If you bring copies of your recipe, you get brownie points. Please be prepared to disclose ingredients so those with dietary restrictions can make informed choices.
