Sisterhood

The Sisterhood of Beth Chaim was established with two primary goals: the first was to provide support for the synagogue where and when needed and the second was to strengthen the personal bonds of friendship among the women of the congregation.

We take an active role in the B'nei Mitzvah program by attending all of the services, sharing the richness of these simchas and honoring our young adults with a gift from the Beth Chaim Sisterhood. We act as a support group for individuals and families within our community during life-cycle events and provide care, meals, visits and comfort at times of sorrow. In addition, each year the Sisterhood sponsors a Shabbat service where our members lead and participate fully in the service with prayer, music and personal experiences.

In support of our second goal, we step out for Sisterhood luncheons, dinners, potluck brunches, movie and bunko nights, and embrace one another in friendship. A year ago, we enjoyed an amazing – and rejuvenating - Sisterhood Retreat which we plan to offer again. We also get together each year for the famous Sisterhood Hamentaschen Bake, where we gather in someone’s home to bake hamentaschen for Beth Chaim’s Purim Celebration – we also laugh, schmooze, sing, and laugh some more. Our meetings are fun, energetic and filled with warmth. Come and find out what we are all about. We welcome your ideas and, more importantly, your friendship.
