WEEKLY TORAH STUDY Exodus 27:20 – 30:10 Parashah Tetzaveh “You command” This Torah portion contains detailed instructions on what the high priest will wear and how to make the garments. The priestly ordination ceremony is described and again God promises to abide among the Israelites. Much of this portion is taken up with description of the priestly garments. We can see the importance of bodily clothing but our metaphysical clothing is something else all together. Is the clothing of the inner you, the spiritual essence, different in intent than your physical clothing? Why? Go to www.chabad.org and search for” parshah Tetzaveh” for more commentary on this week’s reading.

WEEKLY TORAH STUDY
Exodus 13:17 – 17:16
Parashah B’Shalalch
(After he had let go...)
The Israelites leave Egypt and cross the Sea of Reeds and set forth on a long and circuitous journey. Soon they begin complaining about the hardships they are only beginning to endure.
When have you “gone into the wilderness” of your own experience? You had a goal in mind only to find out that the route to it wasn’t direct and that you were beset by doubt just as the Israelites were on their journey.

BROTHERHOOD
· Super Bowl Party, February 7, at the temple, open to all members of the community and their friends. Brotherhood supplies food and two screens to watch the game. Last year there were over 100 people watching together. We also have a pool, in which we want to see more participation.
o The pool is the major fundraiser for the brotherhood. We are about 75% sold out and need to sell as many spots as possible before the ski trip (January 28-31.) Spots in the pool and selling fast and we will sell out. If you are not going the ski trip you have until Wednesday, January 27 to contact Mark Yarkin at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to sign up!! The pool will sell out on the ski trip! In the last year, the Brotherhood donated over $5,000 to local Jewish and community organizations, the Mumbai terror attack victims, and more. Over the last 10 years, we have donated over $60k to assorted causes. This pool works differently than all other football pools. Every score change pays. Not the quarter, half or final score. In the last couple of years, payouts have ranged from $750/spot to $450/spot. It all depends on how many score changes there are in the game. We will sell 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 spots. It is a good way to get people together to raise interest in the game even if the local teams are not playing.
